At the opening round of AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am 2013, Hunter Mahan and Russell Knox both carded six-under to lead at the leaderboard on the Monterey Peninsula.
Phil Mickelson – the defending champion also played well that resulted in a par on No. 4 with a one-under 69. While Russell Knox scored six-under 64 by starting off with a bogey, but he then birdied six of the next 11 holes, and if he would have been just a bit more true with the below birdie putt on No. 9.
Meanwhile, Hunter Mahan had used a fantastic approach to shot on No. 11 on Pebble Beach and ended in a tie with Knox with six-under 64.
A few of the big names also in red numbers, include Lee Westwood and Brandt Snedeker. Westwood – the Englishman made his way around Pebble in 68, slotting in two shots behind the leaders at 4-under. PGA Tour debut for Westwood has started strong.
Snedeker is a consistent player with having his name constantly on the first page of the leaderboard. Snedeker took advantage of the short layout at MPCC to shoot a 4-under round of 66. Coming off back-to-back second place finishes, he should be in the hunt yet again this Sunday.
Scott Langley and partner Doug Mackenzie have a one-shot lead over Snedeker and Toby Wilt and are in “celebrity” classification.
