On Monday March 11th, 2013, the Women’s football group stage match in the friendly tournament will be played between Sweden and USA at the Algarve Cup 2013. Today USA team will play their third group match after having a perfect start by winning first two group matches. USA was the only team to have a 100% winning record.
USA Women’s team played their first group match with Iceland, where they scored 3 goals while second match they played with China PR in which they totally outclassed them by scoring 5 goals to nil.
Sweden are unbeaten in the tournament however, they been drawn with China PR by 1-1 in their opening fixture at the Algarve Cup 2013. After conceding the goal first from China they fought back and level the game. In their second group game, they missed six goal but finally at the 86th minute Magnusdottir scored a consolation goal.
USA Team currently standing top of the group with 6 points under their belt while Sweden are second with 4 points. A draw will guarantee USA Team to stay on top but win for Sweden can turn around both the teams’ position.
