Open Championships 2013 Men’s final match got underway on Monday September 9th 2013, at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York.
Serena Williams won the 2013 U.S Open title by beating Victoria Azarenka in the final, at Flushing Meadows on Sunday in three sets by 7-5, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1. Williams won the 17th Grand Slam title in her extraordinary career.
Williams looks strong in first set as she broken Azarenka service in the first game of the match. However, Azarenka was the more forceful and precise in second set. She uses her service brilliantly and she broke Williams in the next game. However, Williams broke back Azarenka to take a 6-5 lead.
During tiebreak Azarenka battled a 6-4 lead but Williams leveled it at six while next two shots stunningly won by Azarenka to clinch the second set. This was the first time in this tournament that Williams had lost a set.
Williams came back very strongly in the third and final set and giving no time to her opponents as she won the set and title by 6-1 with forceful serves and tremendous breaks.
