Seattle Reign FC midfielder Kim Little was voted the Army National Guard Player of the Month by the media for the month of May of the 2014 NWSL season.

The Scotland international was also voted Player of the Month for April and is the first player in NWSL history to earn the award on multiple occasions as well as in back-to-back months.

Little, 23, scored four goals over five games in May to help Reign FC to a 3-0-2 record during the month as Seattle maintained their place at the top of the league table.

The Aberdeen, Scotland native had a goal in the last four games of May – and has scored in each of her last five contests, including the Reign’s 3-1 victory over Sky Blue FC on June 1.

The five consecutive games with a goal ties an NWSL record set last season by Western New York Flash forward Abby Wambach.

FC Kansas City midfielder Lauren Holiday also scored in five straight matches during the 2013 season. Holiday’s goals came in the five games she played during a seven-game stretch for her team. The two matches Holiday missed during that span were due to her involvement with the U.S. Women’s National Team.

Little currently leads the league with nine goals in 10 games this season.

She scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Portland Thorns FC on May 10 and was instrumental in extending Seattle’s current unbeaten run to 10 games – which tied the NWSL record set by FC Kansas City in 2013 – with a game-tying goal in both the Reign’s 1-1 draw with FC Kansas City on May 21 and a 2-2 draw May 25 against the Western New York Flash.

Seattle Reign FC will have the opportunity to break the record when they return to action Saturday, June 7 at 10 p.m. ET against the Chicago Red Stars at Moda Pitch at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.

The Army National Guard Player of the Month is selected each month of the regular season by a selection of journalists that cover the league on a consistent basis.
