The 2010 BMO National Championships wrapped up on Monday 11 October with eight new national champions. The winners were crowned in four Canadian cities: senior men’s and women’s club champions in Charlottetown, PE, U-18 men and women club champions in the Sony U-18 Cup in Mount Pearl, NL, U-16 boys and girls club champions in Vaughan, and U-14 boys and girls club champions in Moncton, NB.

Churchill Arms wins historic Challenge Trophy

Churchill Arms became the first Prince Edward Island team to win the Canadian senior men’s club championship, doing so on home soil in the 2010 BMO National Championships Challenge Trophy competition. Churchill Arms of Charlottetown, PE won 2:0 over Gorge FC of Victoria, BC in the 11 October 2010 final played at UPEI Field.

Halifax Dunbrack wins the 2010 Jubilee Trophy

Halifax Dunbrack won the 2010 BMO National Championships Jubilee Trophy after winning 2:1 over Edmonton Victoria in Charlottetown, PE. Leanne Huck and Kate MacDonald scored first-half goals, leading the team from Nova Scotia to victory in the 11 October 2010 final. Keisha Wallin scored late into second half added time, but it was too little too late for the defending national champions from Alberta.

Coquitlam Metro Ford and Royal Sélect de Beauport win Sony U-18 Cups

British Columbia’s Coquitlam Metro Ford Dynamo and Québec’s Royal Sélect de Beauport won the Sony U-18 Cups at the 2010 BMO National Championships in Mount Pearl, NL. Coquitlam Metro Ford Dynamo knocked off defending champion Alberta’s Foothills Crew 3:0 in the boys final while Royal Sélect de Beauport defeated Ontario’s Erin Mills Eagles 2:0 in the two competition final matches played on 11 October 2010.

Ontario takes double gold at home in U-16 Cups

Ontario clubs enjoyed a very good week on home soil at the U-16 Cups at the 2010 BMO National Championships in Vaughan, ON. Ajax Strikers defeated Manitoba’s Northwest Lions 3:1 in the boys final while Pickering Power Green roared to a 4:1 victory over Monteuil Extreme of Québec in the girls final played on 11 October 2010.

Coquitlam Metro Ford Fusion and Braves D’Ahunstic win U-14 Cups

British Columbia’s Coquitlam Metro Ford Fusion and Québec’s Braves D’Ahunstic won the U-14 Cups at the 2010 BMO National Championships in Moncton, NB. Coquitlam Metro Ford defeated the powerful Ontario representative Brams United Angels 1:0 in the girls final while Braves D’Ahunstic squeaked by NSD Rangers of Alberta by the same 1:0 score line in the boys final on 11 October 2010.
