Seattle Reign FC forward Nahomi “Naho” Kawasumi has been voted the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Week by the media for Week 13 of the 2014 NWSL season.

Naho, 28, scored two goals – including the game-winner – to rally Reign FC to a 3-2 victory Sunday against the Boston Breakers at the Moda Pitch at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.

The Japanese international was also featured in the Reign’s 2-1 win Wednesday over the Western New York Flash, registering one shot on goal in 68 minutes.

The Yamato, Japan native now has five goals and three assists in 12 appearances (11 starts) this season in the NWSL while on loan from Japanese club INAC Kobe Leonessa.

With her team trailing 1-0 in the 55th minute against the Breakers, Naho ghosted unmarked into the box to get on the end of a cross from defender Stephanie Cox before lashing a shot past Boston goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher and just inside the far post to level the score. (Goal #1 – Watch Highlights )

Then with the game tied at 2-2 in the 83rd minute, Naho popped up for her second goal of the game with a strong run of the ball to get onto a pass from midfielder Jess Fishlock after the Scotland international had made an interception in the attacking third. (Goal #2 – Watch Highlights )

The tally was Naho’s second game-winning goal of the season.

This marks the second time this season and fourth time overall that a Seattle Reign FC player has been voted NWSL Player of the Week – with forward Sydney Leroux earning the award in Week 4, while midfielder Jess Fishlock and forward Megan Rapinoe were both honored in 2013.

Seattle Reign FC returns to action Saturday, July 12 at 8 p.m. ET against the Chicago Red Stars at Benedictine University Sports Complex in Lisle, Ill.
