Toronto FC’s preseason continued with a 1-0 defeat to Orlando City at the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic in Florida on Saturday night.

Ian Fuller scored the only goal of the game in the 76th minute.

"Everybody is disappointed about the result, but I am looking at the way we played rather than the result," said Toronto FC First Assistant Coach Bob de Klerk. "The first half was poor but we played a bit better in the second half and played a possession game like we want to play."

"We gave a goal away when there wasn’t really any danger. Today there were too many plays where we looked nervous. This is the preseason and we now know which kind of players can play in our system. We will keep believing in how we want to play but we also have to play with passion and heart," explained de Klerk.

Toronto goalkeeper Milos Kocic made three first half saves to keep the match goalless heading into half time, but he couldn’t keep out the strike from Orlando substitute Fuller 14 minutes before full time.

Toronto once again fielded a number of trialists in their lineup as new Head Coach Aron Winter looks at potential signings that can fit into his desired style of play. The loss against Orlando followed a 3-2 defeat against Houston Dynamo in the team’s first match in Florida on Thursday.

Toronto FC’s squad will train in Florida until Wednesday when they will travel to Charleston, South Carolina for the 2011 Carolina Challenge Cup. Toronto’s first match is on Saturday March 5 against the Chicago Fire at 5:00 p.m. EST. They will then play against Charleston Battery on Wednesday March 9 at 7:15 p.m. EST, and finish the tournament on Saturday March 12 against D.C. United at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Toronto FC will open the 2011 Major League Soccer Season on Saturday, March 19 in Vancouver against the expansion club Vancouver Whitecaps F.C.
