Man wanted for an attempted abduction of a 16 year old girl in Toronto

The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a sexual assault investigation.

On Saturday, July 31, 2010, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 16-year-old girl was walking in the Harcourt Avenue/Pape Avenue area.

It is reported that:

– she was walking with a friend, east on Harcourt Avenue, when a man approached them from behind,

– he grabbed the victim and attempted to take her to the ground,

– she was able to fight off the man, who fled on foot towards the Pape Avenue/Danforth Avenue area.

– a citizen followed the suspect to a vehicle.

The suspect is described as having a light-black complexion, 20-30, 5’9”, with a thin-to-medium build. He had an Afro hairstyle which was tied back into a short, puffy ponytail. He was wearing a white T-shirt and light, washed-out blue jeans.
