An early morning traffic stop led to the arrest of a Hamilton man alleged to be involved in an overnight break and enter at an area video store.

On Saturday, June 5th, 2010, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a uniform patrol officer from the Hamilton Police Service Division Two patrol stopped a car on Quigley Rd. at Albright Rd. in Hamilton. The driver was arrested for driving while suspended. He was searched and a quantity of marihuana was found in his pockets. Further assisting officers arrived and after searching the car a quantity of property believed to be stolen, was found inside. Officers also located burglary tools and a further quantity of marihuana.

Later in the morning it was determined that there had been an overnight break and enter at the Rogers Video located on Upper Wentworth St. and Fennell Ave. where a large quantity of DVD’s, cellular telephones, video games, and assorted electronic equipment had been taken. Through further investigation, it was determined that the items seized from the car was the property taken from the break and enter at the video store.

Possession of Marihuana
Fail to Comply with Recognizance

Seized: Approximately $20,000.00 stolen electronic video games, DVD’s, cellular phones, laptop computer.
