Canadian Election 2011: What would Harper majority mean for South Asians and Immigrants?

Harper majority would mean bye bye to parliamentary democracy, bye bye to human rights, bye bye to civil liberties, bye bye to fundamental freedoms of speech and assembly, bye bye to employment equity, pay equity, bye bye to multiculturalism.
 
Harper majority would mean cuts to immigration, immigration settlement aid programs and agencies serving immigrants, very long or indefinite waiting periods for immigrant family reunions, cuts in language training, job training and skills training for immigrants and newcomers.
 
Harper majority would mean closure human rights commissions, employment equity and pay equity resulting into no redress mechanism for discrimination faced by racial minorities, woman, disabled and aboriginal Canadians. The following statement by him indicates where he stands on Human Rights Commissions.
 

"Human rights commissions, as they are evolving, are an attack on our fundamental freedoms and the basic existence of a democratic society. It is in fact totalitarianism. I find this is very scary stuff."

Harper majority would mean the disparity between wages paid to minorities (low wages) and Caucasians (high wages) as well between men and women doing the work of equal value, will widen. Look at the following:

Beware racial minorities ! Harper and his conservative candidates will do every trick and gimmick like wearing ethnic dress, speaking a few words of ethnic language, eating ethnic food, dance with Bollywood star and make all kinds of promises to win your vote to get a majority. Don’t be fooled by these gimmicks, tricks and promises. They are exploiting you to make you feel good to get the majority but as soon as Mr. Harper is in power with a majority, the first to get brunt of his anti-democratic rule will be ethnic or racial minorities. 
 
Like they say, "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" Beware of Mr. Harper, Mr. Kenny, Mr Flaherty and their team of extreme right wing conservative members ! They are anti-democracy, anti-civil liberties, anti-freedoms, anti-human rights, anti-equity and anti-equality. They will only make the rich corporations, oil companies and banks richer while misusing the hard working and honest taxpayers money by allowing tax cuts to corporations, spending money on jets, jails and G-20 etc. 
 
If you want to preserve and protact your democratic rights, freedoms, equality, equity, human rights, think carefully before you cast your valuable vote on May 2.
