Join us for the opening of the contemporary art exhibition, Bamiyan (the heart that has no love/pain/generosity is not a heart), and an illustrated talk by its co-creators. Vancouver-based media artist Jayce Salloum and Afghan-Hazara artist Khadim Ali will discuss their collaborative installation, comprised of an archive of photographs, miniature paintings and videos. The exhibition examines the aftermath of the March 2001 destruction by the Taliban of the colossal c. 5th century Buddhas of the Bamiyan Valley in Central Afghanistan. The talk will be followed by a reception and tour of the exhibition, as well as the exhibition catalogue launch. Bamiyan is on display at the ROM from April 3 – May 2, 2010 only.

Dear Khadim Ali,
I am wondering if you can contact me regarding repairing/painting a miniature for us. Please let me know if you are interested and if not what type of paint should be used for a miniature painted on cellulocomment_ID (a type of plastic)
