Meet the youngest board member of Kulanu Inc., a US-based charity that supports Jewish communities around the world that are emerging or re-emerging, isolated, often forgotten. Daneel Schaechter has been honoured this year for his outstanding work with new Jewish Communities in Brazil, Ecuador and elsewhere. As Kulanu US’s regional coordinator in Latin America, Daneel will share unique stories from his personal experience. Daneel who lives in New York, is a Fullbright Scholar who went to Brazil in 2015 to teach English at a university and to work with Prodeaf, a tech startup that aims to integrate deaf Brazilians into society. Research suggests that there are potentially 20,000,000 descendants—but how many are returning to Judaism, why, and how?
