The Deadstock Depot Flea Market
20 Joe Shuster Way FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Toronto, Ontario
November 27, 2016
The Dead Stock Depot is Toronto’s first-ever vintage and urban streetwear marketplace. We strive to curate a flea market consisting of the best streetwear vendors & manufacturers, as well as artists and collectives that Toronto has to offer. Our inaugural event took place on September 17th, 2016, and based off its success we are moving forward with the second event on Sunday, November 27th.
Our flea market has proven to be an opportunity for customers to get their hands on Canada’s largest collection of rare vintage and modern streetwear garments & artwork, interact face to face with some of their favorite brand representatives and get directly involved with the local streetwear community in Toronto.
We take pride in providing a platform for other businesses from surrounding metropolitan areas such as Niagara Falls and Montreal to showcase their merchandise and collaborate with other entrepreneurs in the same industry. Our market has also provided wholesale opportunities for other local vintage streetwear retail spaces such as F As In Frank.
We have many returning vendors from our inaugural event such as Midtown Closet, a local vintage streetwear shop in the northwest end of the city that was developed in collaboration with Toronto Hip-Hop sensation and Duck Down records signee, Raz Fresco. Mid-Town Closet is an ideal example of the type of vendors we will have in attendance on November 27th (see @midtowncloset on Instagram for reference).
With over 15 different vendors, live Hip-Hop performances, and a Movember Canada donation bin in effect, we are projecting to fuel a movement that will solidify Toronto’s top-spot within the global streetwear community. Although the event was originally catered to the vintage market, we have implemented a wide range of local urban streetwear brands, which in turn will help generate an influx of foot traffic. The city of Toronto has already started to get behind the first ever street-level marketplace of this sort, and we are excited to have your publication involved with us to help reach the masses and help us continue to grow our unique platform. The market will be held on November 27th, 2016 at the Super Wonder Gallery (876 Bloor St. West, Toronto Ontario – www.superwondergallery.com from 1:00pm to 9:00pm
About The Deadstock Depot:
Marc, Brad, & Tyler are three Toronto-based vintage sellers, who collectively have over 20 years of thrifting and selling experience, which has solidified their notoriety within the industry. They spotted a void in the vintage community in Toronto, as there are no marketplaces catered to vintage and urban streetwear. They decided to join forces and create the Deadstock Depot in order to promote the streetwear culture here in Toronto, as well as give local and other Canadian vendors a platform to showcase their products.
