Our first episode of Circuit is featuring a panel of Toronto’s most respected film industry professionals. Join us and witness as these prestigious guests come together for the first time and discuss their hopes and fears for the Toronto film industry. After the show, IndieFilmTO and Tract 9 will host a networking event focusing on the Toronto Film Industry!

Discussing the state of the industry, what its doing right, what needs improvement and a call to action for up and coming filmmakers in Toronto on how they can help shape the future of Toronto Film.

Piers Handling
Director & CEO, TIFF Toronto International Film Festival
Piers has held this position since 1994, and is responsible for leading both the operational and artistic growth of the organization. Under Handlings direction, TIFF has grown to become an internationally renowned cultural institution. He has curated numerous film retrospectives, presented programs of Canadian cinema, sat on festival juries all around the world, and has published extensively on Canadian cinema.
Michele Alosinac
Film Sector Development Officer, Toronto City Hall
Michele Alosinac is the new film sector development officer for the Toronto Film, Television and Digital Media Office, and wants to start from the ground up to create a film office that is more efficient and better connected to the whole of Torontos screen-based industries. Michele fought long and hard to open up a film division in City Hall itself, so shed have a lot to say about the citys stance
on the Toronto Film Industry.
Carolle Brabant
Executive Director, Telefilm Canada
Since her appointment in March 2010, Carolle Brabant has distinguished herself through her leadership role in promoting Canadian talent and content in Canada and on the international scene. She was awarded the 2012 Excellence in Leadership Award from Canadian Women in Communications CWC, in addition to being recognized as one of Canadas Top 100 Most Powerful Women for 2012 by the Womens Executive Network WXN. Carolle Brabant is recognized for her cultural vision, financial acumen and skills as a gifted communicator.
Bern Euler
Founder & Festival Director, Canadian Film Fest
Bern Euler, Founder and Festival Director, started the Canadian Film Fest out of frustration from not being able to easily access Canadian movies in theatres. He made it his mission to help promote, celebrate, and market this countrys films. After holding a short film festival in 2003 he managed to generate interest from various industry and corporate professionals to put on a much bigger event hence the birth of the Canadian Film Fest. His almost unhealthy love for movies drives him to make his dream of elevating Canadian culture a reality. Bern also works as an editor and has cut feature films, shorts and numerous corporate videos. Berns latest project, A SUNDAY KIND OF LOVE had its theatrical release in April 2016.
Networking Event at 4:30pm
The public will be invited to attend a networking event taking place after the Circuit Filming. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the show they just witnessed and/or network with audience members if they did not attend the filming. Lite fare and music will accompany the event.
