Jess Stewart with the stretch Orchestra, who plays with Kevin Breit and Matt Brubeck (formerly known as Tallboys), won the “Instrumental Album of the Year” Juno award last weekend for their debut self-titled album.  This will be old news for many of you by now.   They have two upcoming shows, probably their last before Kevin heads out on the road for an extended tour with Hugh Laurie.

On Saturday April 14, they will be doing a house concert at Doug Larson’s place in Guelph:
Chez Doug and Dawn Larson
20 Floral Drive
Guelph, ON
N1G 1R1
Doors 7:30pm; Showtime: 8pm—10:30pm
$20
Space is extremely limited, so if you would like to attend, please RSVP in advance Jess stewart at this email address: stewartjesse@hotmail.com.

It might be useful to pack a lawn chair, barstool or Hillside chair since Doug has seating for perhaps 35.

On Sunday April 15, they will be playing the Rex Jazz Bar in Toronto:
The Rex
194 Queen Street West
M5V 1Z1
7pm start time
Admission by donation
Note that they will be subbing for Ugly Beauties, another (excellent) trio of Matt’s. This came about sufficiently last minute that it is not yet reflected on the Rex website. But they will be there on April 15. They hope you will be too.
Jess Stewart would be very grateful if everyone circulate this info to anyone who think might be interested as they need to get the word out about both of these events as quickly as possible.
