A Western take on the classic Pygmalion setup — with a gender twist to boot, Man With the Pointed Toes made its stage debut at Glendale Centre Theatre some 50 years ago. Originally a TV production written by husband-and-wife team Lynn and Helen Root, Toes stands as a timeless romantic comedy. In it, newly rich rancher Tom hires nerdy tutor Florence to help educate and polish him in pursuit of Pamela, a “classy” woman who has caught his eye but has deemed him to be a mere rube. As Tom tries to woo Pamela, Florence falls for him and heart-strung hilarity ensues.
