Sex, Drugs and Clowns Make Up the Dark Comedy That Good Night
Road Theatre at Lankershim Arts Center (North Hollywood, CA)
A darkly comedic look at what it means to be cast adrift at any age, That Good Night explores the complex family dynamic of the O’Dwyer children, who have all reconvened to say goodbye to their dying father. Among them is their 37-year-old brother, who still lives at home and works as a part-time clown while dabbling in magic, film and heroin. As the children struggle with their own identities, marriages and fatherhood, their sister reveals she has written a story that threatens to expose family secrets thought long forgotten. That Good Night explores the means we have of holding on to each other and to those lost souls who appear in the night, using black humor to create an engrossing, enlightening production.
