Enjoy two sets of live jazz during this performance hosted by the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center. First, enjoy a set from Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Mia Doi Todd. With nine gorgeous albums under her belt, the music veteran has performed and recorded with artists as varied as Dntel, Beachwood Sparks, Flying Lotus, Folk Implosion, Saul Williams and Prefuse 73. Later in the night, avant-garde jazz pianist Motoko Honda will take the stage with the Sound Escape Project. The ensemble will present a world premiere of Dreams of a Flower which incorporates contemporary jazz, electronics, modern dance and real-time animation featuring Spectral GL by Jesse Gilbert.
