Edgar Allan Poe Must Die! imagines that the famed 19th-century writer of such classic horror stories as “The Raven” and “The Tell-Tale Heart” is alive today and trying to — what else? — break into show business. A dark comedy written and directed by Paul Fields, Edgar Allan Poe Must Die! puts Poe in Hollywood, trying to make his way from talent agencies to major studios to, of course, a fantasy involving licking the tattoos on a reality TV ink-slinger. But complicating matters for him are a naïve young writer with some special skills and, naturally, a talking raven.
