More about BOMBAY BRAZIL!
Bombay Brazil!, the wrap event for Small World's Asian Music Series, promises to be the party of the season. The brainchild of Samba maestro Alan Hetherington, whose Escola da Samba has helped set the pulse of Toronto's Brazilian scene, this unique event unites the rhythms and traditions of two rich musical cultures.
Celebrating music close to the sea, the magic of form, dynamic rhythmic power, and the subtle beauty of song, the evening is a spectacular blend of the best of India and Brazil…with a stellar line up of exceptional musicians from these two colourful genres.
With a stellar line up of some of Canada's finest musicians from these two genres, this show will be a rare chance in Toronto to hear a blend of the Northeast of Brazil with modern and traditional Indian influences. Segueing from solo tabla to full-on dhol-meets-samba drum mayhem, with a dollop of electronics and the beguiling vocals of rising star Aline Morales, Bombay Brazil! is truly a one-of-a-kind event and a magnificent finale to Small World's 10th Annual Asian Music Series!
