Pomona Fairplex (Pomona, CA)
Among the Southern-fried treats you can experience at the L.A. County Fair this year is this down-home country rock show, starring the Charlie Daniels Band, '80s hit-makers .38 Special and special guests The Outlaws. Legendary fiddler Charlie Daniels and his band deliver a pioneering mixture of Southern rock, country, bluegrass, blues and gospel that's resulted in sales of more than 18 million albums with hits like "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," "The South's Gonna Do It," "Long Haired Country Boy" and "Uneasy Rider." Daniels' amazing output includes more than 50 albums, including 2011's Land That I Love. Florida's own .38 Special is riding the arena-rock resurgence with their smash hits "Hold On Loosely," "Caught Up in You" and "Second Chance," among others. The Outlaws came onto the scene in the '70s with their songs, "There Goes Another Love Song" and "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky." It'll be a rocking night to remember under the stars in Pomona.
