Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley are the newest country supergroup known as the Pistol Annies, who hit the target with their debut single and album Hell on Heels. The disc is both a popular and critical success, and the ladies are now set to headline this outdoor concert at the L.A. County Fair. As if superstar singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert didn’t have enough going on with her hit solo career (“Gunpowder & Lead,” “Heart Like Mine”) and her marriage, duets and appearances with better-half Blake Shelton, she also somehow finds time for this well-received side project. Formed to appear on an Academy of Country Music special in 2011, the high-spirited Pistol Annies line up this way — the Texas-born Lambert serves as “Lonestar Annie,” Monroe is “Hippie Annie,” and Kentuckian Presley appears as “Holler Annie.” Together, they make beautiful music, including the songs “Run Daddy Run” from The Hunger Games soundtrack and “Takin’ Pills,” which is set to appear on their next album.
