Pasadena’s Salastina Music Society gets its latest season off to a strong start with a concert featuring the music of 20th century Russian great Dmitri Shostakovich. Guest artists from the faculties of SoCal’s top music schools are set to perform, including pianist Norman Krieger, Helen Callus on viola and Antonio Lysy on the cello. They’ll take on Shostakovich’s dramatic Piano Quintet, along with the composer’s Five Pieces for Two Violins and Piano. Then, stick around after the show to meet and mingle with the artists at a wine reception.
