The Annual Midweek South Asian Awards has become an event like no other – honouring remarkable South Asian leaders who symbolize leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and philanthropy.

In just three days from today, the spotlight will shine on 12 distinguished South Asian Canadians at the 4th Annual Midweek South Asian Awards night, presented by Aureus University, School of Medicine, on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Grand Victorian Convention Centre, Radisson Plaza Hotel.
Following the huge success of last year, the 4th Annual Midweek South Asian Awards show plans to make this year’s event even grander with a red carpet event. This fast-paced and engaging awards gala will be hosted by Rogers TV station manager Jake Dheer and Surbhi Guleria, host of Badhai Ho on Omni TV.
Music and entertainment will be woven throughout the evening with spectacular Bollywood dances and fashion shows.  Bollywood actress Sayali Bhagat, starring in the upcoming movie Ghost, along with director Pooja Bedi will be in attendance. Sayali Bhagat will be performing live at the show — a first for the Midweek South Asian Awards event. The awards show will also be attended by politicians, high-profile persons from the South Asian community, business houses, and members of the South Asian and mainstream media.
Yudhvir Jaswal, chief editor of Midweek News Weekly, believes that the awards not only recognize the talent of today but are an inspiration for the achievers of tomorrow. “It is important to recognize leaders who make a difference in the community. The South Asian community is proud to have these role models for the present and future generations,” he said.
The organizers are thankful to their title sponsor Aureus University, School of Medicine, Aruba, and other sponsors such as Chanchlani Foundation, Sukhwant Thethi (Mortgage specialist), Balraj Dhaliwal (Daas Optical), Murari Thapliyal and Prashant Rai (Thapliyal & Rai Law Office), Tarun Virdi (Mortgage manager at TD), Insure my future,  Rajeev Kumar (Realtor) and Pankaj Monga (PMGI Financial).
