Sound of Tears A Canadian Short Film Indiegogo Campaign Launch Party Thursday November 14, 6PM to 9PM Pacific Junction Hotel, 236 King Street East Sound of Tears embodies passion. The subject matter concerns how some members of society inflamed by righteous passion will go so far as to murder their wives, sisters and daughters in the name of honour. Those wives, sisters and daughters, threatened or killed, may have felt the passion of love to invoke their terrible fate. And the auteur of Sound of Tears, Dorothy A. Atabong, is fueled by passion passion to show the world the frighteningly heinous practice of honour based crimes. On Thursday November 14, 2013, Sound of Tears is hosting a Campaign Launch Party to celebrate the completion of filming and to formally launch the Indiegogo campaign that will fund the final, post-production stage of this important short film. Donors and press will also have the opportunity to meet the cast and crew. Among those present will be Dorothy A. Atabong, award winning actress and filmmaker, the author/director of Sound of Tears, who also has the lead role. We want to show Canadians and the world the frightening repercussions of violence against women in this astoundingly horrific practice, she says. We need to get the word out loud and clear. The Campaign Launch Party is being held at the Pacific Junction Hotel, 236 King Street East (at Sherbourne).
