Two jazz greats, Ramsey Lewis and John Pizzarelli, pay tribute to music legend Nat King Cole in Straighten Up and Fly Right. With his smoky, smooth vocals and a string of timeless hits like “The Christmas Song,” “Nature Boy,” “Mona Lisa,” “Too Young” and “Unforgettable,” Cole bridged the jazz and pop genres. Composer, pianist and radio personality Ramsey Lewis has recorded seven gold records and won three Grammy Awards. He’s best known for sons like “The In Crowd,” “Hang on Sloopy” and “Wade in the Water.” An acclaimed guitarist and beloved singer with a soft voice, John Pizzarelli has recorded 23 albums and worked with the likes of Paul McCartney, James Taylor and Rosemary Clooney. He’s probably best known for his album of Nat King Cole songs, Dear Mr. Cole. Straighten Up and Fly Right brings these two artists together to pay tribute to the man who inspired them and music lovers everywhere.
