Two of America’s biggest and most enduring classic rock acts — Chicago and REO Speedwagon — join forces for this summertime concert under the stars at The Greek Theatre. Rock legends Chicago have been hitting the Top 40 charts for five decades with horn-driven songs like “Saturday in the Park,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Hard to Say I’m Sorry,” “25 or 6 to 4” and more. The group’s record sales top the 100 million mark, making them one of the most successful bands not just in the U.S., but worldwide. And now they’re getting ready to release a new album of original music — their 36th! — entitled Now. Also hailing from Illinois, REO Speedwagon is probably best known for the power ballad “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” which has been covered by everyone from Russell Brand (in the movie Rock of Ages) to Glee. For this spectacular outdoor concert, the two groups will perform hits from their own impressive catalogs before joining together for a sure-to-be-smoking encore.
