"Sanger: One Woman, One Story"

Reproductive rights activist Margaret Sanger comes to vivid life in this one-woman show from Pamela Daly (Music Therapy, Beyond the Mat). Sanger: One Woman, One Story tracks the pioneering path of this influential — and still controversial — figure, who gave birth to the birth-control movement, fought for female equality and founded Planned Parenthood. Sanger opened the very first contraceptive clinic in the U.S. in 1916 — and was promptly arrested for it. But the subsequent publicity took the issue of sex, birth control and abortion out of the back alleys and into the American consciousness. A prolific author and outspoken advocate for women’s rights, Sanger’s own words provide the powerful basis for this revelatory solo piece.
