Royce Hall at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA)
Milton Nascimento celebrates half a century of music-making at UCLA’s beautiful Royce Hall. Nascimento’s impossibly warm, thrillingly agile voice has made him one of Brazilian music’s most legendary and revered stars. His artistry, multi-octave ability and disparate influences — among them rock, jazz, Portuguese fado, Spanish guitars, Andean flutes and Gregorian chants — have helped Nascimento to both define and transcend Brazilian jazz with classic songs like “Travessia” and “San Vicente.” He’s collaborated with numerous celebrated musicians, including Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Jack DeJohnette and Earth, Wind and Fire.
