Tkaronto Bounce

Taking inspiration from the significance of Onkwehon:we game of Lacrosse as a celebration of life, unification of body, mind and spirit to uplift and strengthen individuals and communities, KDT presents 5 short sport/dance fusions in a work called Tkaronto Bounce. Tkaronto Bounce was commissioned for the TORONTO 2015 arts and culture festival PANAMANIA, presented by CIBC. This work synthesizes in a high-energy entertaining mesh up of dance with Lacrosse, Taekwondo, Athletics, Volleyball and Kayaking.

Join Artistic Director, Choreographer Santee Smith and Cast as they share their developing work, take a glimpse Behind The Curtain.

The event is an open studio where Kaha:wi Dance Theatre invites spectators to experience & observe the creation process of Tkaronto Bounce. The event will include a discussion with the artists about process, culminating in a Q&A.

Cast includes: Daniel McArthur, Emily Law, Jesse Dell, Michael Demski, Joshua DePerry, Raelynn Chase and Sze-Yang Ade-Lam
