Singer-songwriter Frankie Ballard brings the breakthrough hit “Helluva Life” from his latest disc Sunshine & Whiskey to the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, as part of his Light ‘Em Up tour presented by Ones to Watch with Skype. After winning Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star competition in 2008, Ballard’s self-titled debut album was released in 2011 to critical acclaim, and spawned two radio hits: “Tell Me You Get Lonely” and “A Buncha Girls.” Since then, he’s shared the stage with the likes of Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Bob Seger, gaining fans with his live chops and an upbeat, rock-tinged country sound that’s drawn comparisons to John Mellencamp’s early classics. A Thousand Horses opens the show.
