The Somewhere There Creative Music Festival seeks your support to help us deliver an event to remember in 2015! Although we have received a generous grant from the Toronto Arts Council, it is not quite enough to cover the costs of putting on our annual festival. We are therefore launching an Indiegogo campaign to help raise some money. The campaign will launch on Saturday, 6 December with a special fundraising concert at the Tranzac, featuring music by Eucalyptus and See Through 5.

9:30 Indiegogo launch!

10:30 See Through 5

See Through 5 is a new project that adds former Muskox metric manipulators Jake Oelrichs drums and Mike Smith synth to the core See Through Trio lineup. The music might sound like dub or electronic dance music if you happened to have studied renaissance counterpoint during the 1990s.

11:30 Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus has been together since 2008 I think. We've been the same seven musicians since the start. We play my compositions which are inspired by who knows what and whatever else. I certainly do not know. We all like to play improvised music. In this case there are written melodies, chords and even rhythm parts. Alex has an astounding musical imagination. Nick is a drummer who means business always and he's great. Nicole can play the trumpet in an entirely original style. Mike is the most solid bass player around and he takes a mean bass solo once in a while. Blake plays a really impossible style always. Ryan Driver needs no introduction and he can move with and through any musical obstacle. We've had many wonderful gigs and have been invited by many of the top presenters from around. We're lucky but have put in many years of hard work. These could be some good things to keep in mind when listening to the band I guess.
