James Durbin’s father died of a heroin overdose when he was only nine years old, and Durbin was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome and Asperger syndrome shortly thereafter. The singer-songwriter, who placed fourth on the 2011 season of American Idol, has become a role model for bullied kids, talking openly about his conditions and even appearing in a documentary. Since appearing on American Idol, he’s released two albums, Memories of a Beautiful Disaster and Celebrate, and you can expect to hear tracks from both when he performs at Saint Rocke.
