This year marks the 10th anniversary of Celebrate Dance, and the show’s award-winning producer, Jamie Nichols, is marking the occasion with a celebratory retrospective at Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre. Now the show that’s been called “the grandmommy of local festivals” (LA Weekly) is bringing back nine cutting-edge dance companies who’ll re-stage some of the most memorable original works that premiered in past editions. Propelled by live music, this decade-spanning program showcases the best in ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary dance and even stunning aerial ballet, and features performances from Pennington Dance Group (2006’s Out of), Viver Brasil (2009’s In Motion), SoleVita Dance (2013’s The Way West) and many more.
