Conversation and Book Signing with Barney Frank

Barney Frank is arguably the most unique and fascinating (certainly the most entertaining) political figure in Washington. A feisty and effective presence on the House floor from 1981 through his retirement in 2012, Frank was the first member of Congress to voluntarily reveal he is gay and he spent several decades supporting real change in a normally unmoving government. In his new autobiography, Frank: A Life in Politics from the Great Society to Same-Sex Marriage, we find out how a disheveled, intellectually combative gay Jew with a trademark New Jersey-Massachusetts accent became one of the most powerful members of Congress. Hear Frank’s legendary rhetorical skills in action and spend an evening with the man who led debates and enacted change on some of the most significant issues of our time. For this evening at Los Angeles’s Gindi Auditorium, he’ll be in conversation with newspaper columnist Patt Morrison. A book signing will follow.
