Nearly 30 of Stephen Sondheim’s timeless tunes are packed into this musical revue at the Sierra Madre Playhouse. Putting It Together celebrates the incomparable career of the Oscar, Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer of Broadway classics from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum to West Side Story. Taking its name from a song in Sunday in the Park With George, Putting It Together takes place at couple’s Manhattan penthouse party, which suddenly transforms into an estate in Sweden, an island outside of Paris, the woods of a fairy tale, a mythical town in the Southwest and a string of other locations — each one the setting that sparks a Sondheim favorite.
