El Camino College Center for the Arts — Marsee Auditorium (Torrance, CA)

Built around the big, happy beat of horns and percussion, the Southern California Brass Consortium (SCBC) brings their unique sound to a concert featuring everything from neo-classical concert-band music and Italian baroque to contemporary movie soundtracks. Among the works they’re set to play at Torrance’s El Camino College for the Arts are pieces by 20th-century great Alfred Reed, 17th-century Italian Domenico Gabrielli and others, including local artists. Though they’ve only been active since 2013, the SCBC’s already premiered several works by American composers.
