Maybe it’s the perpetual sunshine, or the proximity to the Pacific, or just “something in the air” in Southern California. Whatever it is, it seems to imbue SoCal’s party rock bands with tons of fun-loving energy and grooves so laid-back they’re practically in beach chairs. Headlining this special 4/20 concert at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach are two of SoCal’s finest: Surf/rock/reggae band The B Foundation and reggae/hip-hop trio Lovely Sunny Day. Fans of Sublime and 311 will find plenty to love with The B Foundation, who describe their influences as “reggae rhythms, teen angst and the salty waves of the Pacific Ocean.” Three-piece Lovely Sunny Day fuses reggae, rock and hip-hop, with influences that include Arctic Monkeys and Jimi Hendrix. The concert also features performances by local bands Warehouse One and Sessions.
