Everyone knows Jim Morrison as the frontman of The Doors, but its guitarist Robby Krieger was the seminal L.A. band’s undisputed secret weapon. In addition to using a unique finger-picking approach while playing psychedelic music on electric guitar, Krieger also co-wrote some of The Doors’ most iconic songs — “Light My Fire,” “Love Me Two Times,” “Touch Me” and more. Known for his broad musical tastes, styles and abilities — which include flamenco, folk, jazz and blues — Krieger’s talent helped establish The Doors as one of the most successful rock bands of their time. Since The Doors’ heyday, Krieger has made guest appearances and formed multiple new bands (including several with keyboardist Ray Manzarek).
