Mindy McCready’s life was like one of the country songs she once sang. While still just a teenager, she had a No. 1 hit, sold over two million albums, and was engaged to Superman actor Dean Cain. She also had a dark secret. Starting at the age of 15, she had a 10-year-long affair with All-Star baseball pitcher Roger Clemens. Once the hits dwindled and her record sales dried up, Mindy’s life fell apart. She turned to drugs and alcohol, lost custody of her son, and even spent time in jail. And then one day, at the age of 37, she was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot. Her life may be over, but her spirit and legacy of music remain. Written and directed by Jon Bernstein and starring Jennifer Blake, McCready is a tribute to Mindy.
