House of Blues on the Sunset Strip (West Hollywood, CA)

The sound and spirit of the Grateful Dead live on at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip. Cubensis has been recreating the Grateful Dead live concert experience since 1987. The Los Angeles-based jam band, hailed for its technical mastery and Dead-like spirit, fleshes out Dead songs with original improvisations, spontaneity and virtuosity. Former members of the actual Grateful Dead — among them keyboardists Vince Welnick and Tom Constanten — have even performed onstage with the tribute group, while both frontman Jerry Garcia and guitarist Bob Weir have given their blessing to the band and its mission to help keep the Dead’s music alive. Highway 61 pays tribute to Bob Dylan with songs like “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” “Like A Rolling Stone,” “Hurricane,” “Tangled Up in Blue” and other classic Dylan hits.
