Saban Theatre (Beverly Hills, CA)
Inspired by Robert Johnson — said to have sold his soul to the Devil in return for mastery of the blues guitar — Keb’ Mo’ plays so well, you have to wonder if he struck a similar deal. No matter how it happened, the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist (born Kevin Moore) is perhaps the greatest contemporary interpreter of the Delta Blues alive today. Beloved by critics and fans (one of whom, Martin Scorsese included him in monumental The Blues documentary), Keb’ Mo’ makes old songs song fresh, and new songs sound like old classics from the first note. He’s won three Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Blues Album and his latest album, 2015’s BLUESAmericana has just won a Blues Music Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. Now this great musician brings his evocative sound to the Saban Theatre.
