The Other Space at The Actors Company (West Hollywood, CA)
Shakespeare’s classic battle of the sexes The Taming of the Shrew gets a modern revamping in Queer Classics’ new production. Transported to the 1950s, this sexy new take on the play reimagines the unlikely pair of Katherine and Petruchio as a trans couple, exploring the characters’ expression of gender in a time before there were labels to define it. And it’s all filtered through the beloved comedic style of I love Lucy. Part of the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival, The Taming of the Shrew was conceived and directed by Casey Kringlen, whose production of The Importance of Being Earnest was included in Los Angeles magazine’s list of 13 Shows That Earned a Standing Ovation in 2014. Catch this vibrant reimagining of a classic at The Other Space at The Actors Company in West Hollywood.
