MUSE/IQUE takes over Caltech’s Beckman Mall Lawn for the first concert in their Summer of Sound series, dedicated to this important question: Is Leonard Bernstein America’s Beethoven? Cosmic/Collaboration explores the wide range of composers Bernstein was influenced by and who he influenced, from Maher and Copland to John Williams and even John Lennon. Rachel Worby and her MUSE/IQUE orchestra also premiere a work by Bernstein’s longtime assistant, David Israel, with choreography by Josie Walsh, the Artistic Director of Ballet RED, Joffrey West and Joffrey San Francisco. Bring a picnic and enjoy this musical adventure under the stars.
