Mixing humor and heartbreak with the ease of a master, acclaimed Venezuelan filmmaker Fina Torres (Woman on Top) has adapted Jane Chambers’ play Last Summer at Bluefish Cove into an acclaimed film. Strong-willed womanizer Liz (Patricia Velasquez, The L Word) refuses to call attention to her health issues. When she meets the equally troubled Eva while on vacation with friends in the Caribbean, the two sense a powerful, unnerving chemistry that goes beyond anything either have felt in past romances. Now Outfest Los Angeles’ LGBT Film Festival screens this Spanish-language film at the famed DGA Theater.
