Chelsea Elizabeth Manning was born Bradley Edward Manning. Field Visits for Chelsea Manning is a remarkable cinematic travelogue charting film Army Intelligence Officer Manning’s incarcerations from Kuwait, through Virginia and Kansas, to Maryland. Leaving no stone unturned, Lance Wakeling presents courtroom transcripts of the Wikileaks trial and the effects of the prison-industrial complex on the communities and economies in which detention facilities are erected. It’s being screened at REDCAT, one of DTLA’s hippest theaters, during Outfest Los Angeles’ LGBT Film Festival.
