The Los Angeles Kings, winners of the Stanley Cup two of the past three seasons, welcome Southland rivals the Anaheim Ducks to the STAPLES Center for an exciting NHL preseason matchup. The Ducks may still be smarting after their memorable loss to the Kings in the 2014 Western Conference semis, a hard-fought battle that the Kings ultimately won in seven games, going on to win the Cup. But the Ducks rebounded, making it all the way to the conference finals in 2015, while the Kings failed to make the playoffs at all. L.A. is poised to come roaring back this season, though, with returning stars Anze Kopitar, Tyler Toffoli and Marián Gáborík, who’ll join forces with newly acquired bruiser Milan Lucic for a power-packed surge toward the championship.
