At close to 80, the man Eric Clapton calls “the greatest living blues guitarist in the world” is still serving up his Strat-based signature licks on the road and on vinyl, with his latest disc Born to Play Guitar. Now, this six-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee takes the stage at UCLA’s Royce Hall for a night of true Chicago West Side blues. Buddy Guy and his explosive electric style have influenced guitar rock gods ranging from Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page. In 2012, he became a Kennedy Center Honoree, cementing his status as a true national treasure. Rock-roots-blues trio The Record Company is set to open.
