With unseemly speed, two men have taken fatal tumbles down the grand stairway at the Ravenscroft manor … and now Inspector Ruffling fears he, too, might “slip” in the Gothic thriller, Ravenscroft. The investigator has every reason to be worried: the remote country house at the center of this mystery is really a disguised land-mine, where explosive secrets lurk behind every corner (and underneath every step). Indeed, the longer he stays, the more he becomes involved with the lives of the five intriguing and dangerous women “survivors.” As mysteries and desires are revealed, Ruffling — and the audience — are bewildered, amused, and frightened as they are led to a dark encounter with the truth. Sheridan Cole Crawford directs this production from Kentwood Players at the intimate Westchester Playhouse.
