El Camino College Center for the Arts — Marsee Auditorium (Torrance, CA)

Cellist Kyung Eun Choi

She’s shared the stage with Yo-Yo Ma and the Julliard String Quartet, and won cello competitions at festivals around the globe. Now young cello star Kyung Eun Choi — one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the new generation of young Korean classical musicians — performs at El Camino College Center for the Arts, where she serves as a faculty member. Piano accompaniment comes courtesy of Kirill Gliadkovsky, himself a gifted prodigy who made his first public appearance at the age of six and has toured extensively on three continents, performing piano and organ recitals and as a soloist with orchestras in Russia, Italy, Poland, Mongolia, Japan and throughout the United States. Together, this talented pair will serve up challenging (and gorgeous) works by Debussy (Cello Sonata in D Minor No. 1), Ustvolskaya (Grand Duet) and Rachmaninov (Cello Sonata in G Minor, Op. 19).
